Description
The Watershed Center is soliciting proposals for forestry services across approximately 36 acres of privately owned forest land. The work includes variable-density thinning, free thinning, patch cuts, meadow and aspen enhancement, mechanical and hand harvesting, tree felling, skidding, processing, hauling, slash management, biomass removal, erosion-control installation, access and landing improvements, and rehabilitation of roads, skid trails, and landings. The project is divided into six management units with different prescriptions and operational constraints, including hand-treatment requirements in sensitive meadow areas and frozen-ground operations in one unit. Proposals must describe the contractor's business and forestry experience, equipment and personnel, proposed plan of operations and timeline, biomass and slash removal plan, pricing by management unit and slash-management alternative, relevant past experience, and at least three client references. The selected contractor must provide required insurance, a performance bond equal to 10% of the contract price, and a $5,000 damage deposit. Work is expected to begin no earlier than January 7, 2027, and must be completed by November 30, 2029.
