Description
Kern Community College District is soliciting proposals for roof restoration at Porterville College's M&O Building and other designated buildings. The work includes inspecting and repairing existing metal roof conditions; replacing or tightening fasteners; removing rust; power washing; sealing fasteners, penetrations, panel end laps, and other details; and applying a specified fluid-applied LiquiTec base and top coating system with fabric reinforcement where required. The contractor must coordinate work around continued owner occupancy, maintain a full-time on-site supervisor or foreman while roofing work is in progress, comply with prevailing-wage and apprenticeship requirements, and hold the required California C-39 license and Department of Industrial Relations registration. The owner will furnish specified roofing materials, while the contractor is responsible for installation and any additional materials or accessories required. The proposal requires a 10% bid bond for proposals of $45,000 or more and 100% payment and performance bonds for contracts of $25,000 or more. The stated completion period is 16 calendar days from commencement, with work to begin within five calendar days after the notice to proceed or purchase order.
