Description
Kern High School District is soliciting a lump-sum bid for Bid No. 6931, Tiling, as part of the Vista Continuation High School New Campus modernization project. The scope includes furnishing and installing all interior and exterior floor and wall tile, tile trim, cove base, mortar bed, waterproofing membrane, crack-isolation membrane, sealer, fasteners, shims, spacers, and grout required for complete, ready-for-use tiled surfaces. Work also includes substrate preparation, layout and patterns, cutouts for penetrations, transitions to other finishes, trim and metal edge strips, coordination with other trades, cleaning and sealing, protection and removal of protection, and as-built documentation. The project is a prevailing-wage public works contract requiring a valid California C-54 tile contractor license, California Department of Industrial Relations registration, a 10 percent bid bond, and payment and performance bonds each equal to 100 percent of the contract amount before work begins. The estimated bid value is $397,259.51, and the overall project duration is anticipated to be 490 calendar days. The bidder must submit the prescribed bid package, including the bid form, subcontractor list, bid security, notarized non-collusion declaration, sufficient-funds declaration, asbestos and lead certifications, and applicable DVBE participation documentation. Prequalification is required only for prime contractors and listed subcontractors holding the specified mechanical, electrical, or plumbing license classifications; it is not identified as required for the C-54 tiling package.
