Description
The California Military Department is soliciting bids for three years of fire suppression maintenance at six facilities in Southern California. The contractor must provide inspection, testing, preventive maintenance, certification, tagging, and authorized repair or replacement services for commercial kitchen fire suppression systems and Class K portable fire extinguishers. Kitchen systems require semiannual service, while extinguishers require annual inspection and maintenance, including six-year maintenance and hydrostatic testing when due. Services must comply with applicable NFPA standards, California Title 19 requirements, and manufacturer requirements. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, permits, and related costs; submit service and deficiency reports; and perform at least 20% of the work with its own organization. The prime contractor must hold a California C-16 Fire Protection Contractor license and applicable California Office of the State Fire Marshal fire-extinguisher licenses. Authorized corrective repairs are priced through fixed unit rates or approved estimates. A five percent DVBE participation goal applies, and a bid bond of at least 10% is required when the bid exceeds $24,999.99.
