Description
The Town of South Kingstown is soliciting sealed bids from a licensed contractor to replace the Town Hall bell tower roof at 180 High Street, Wakefield, Rhode Island. The work includes removing existing cedar shingles; installing felt paper, CertainTeed Grand Manor asphalt shingles, stainless-steel fasteners, new fascia and crown molding; lining the trough with a 0.060-inch EPDM rubber membrane; providing a profiled copper cap and flashing; and matching the existing roof and trim profiles. The contractor must also prepare and paint the bell tower frieze and cornice and the existing trim on the 1877 main building. The project is subject to prevailing-wage requirements, licensing requirements, insurance requirements, and submission of certified payrolls. Bidders must demonstrate at least five years of experience, provide evidence of at least five completed projects, submit references and an experience sheet, and identify proposed subcontractors. The successful bidder must provide 100% performance and labor-and-materials bonds, begin work within 10 days of written notice to proceed, and complete the project within 90 calendar days after notice to proceed.
