Description
The Rhode Island Department of Transportation is soliciting construction bids for Rhode Island Contract No. 2026-CB-046 and Federal-Aid Project No. 40522243. The work covers structural steel repairs on seven bridges, including beam-end repairs, repair plates and angles, crack repairs, resetting an existing sole plate, high-strength bolting, welding, epoxy paste, shop and field painting, surface preparation, debris containment and disposal, mobilization, and temporary traffic protection. The project also includes replacement of asphaltic expansion joints at the Sprague Street and Stony Lane bridges. Work must comply with Buy America requirements, prevailing-wage requirements, a 15% Minority Business Enterprise participation goal, lead-paint handling and containment requirements, and extensive railroad protection requirements for work over or near Amtrak's electrified corridor. Required construction submittals include shop drawings, welding certifications and procedures, paint-system information, traffic-related materials, and environmental and debris-management documentation. The solicitation identifies an estimated total of $1,684,367.60 and a final acceptance date of August 12, 2028.
