Description
Cleveland Metroparks is soliciting bids for testing approximately 64 vaulted and 133 inside-building backflow preventers at various park facilities, including testing, reporting to jurisdictional water agencies, and repairs or replacement of defective devices. The awarded contractor must be a currently licensed Certified Tester of backflow preventers in Ohio, comply with applicable jurisdictional standards and OSHA confined-space requirements, and submit test results in the required formats. The scope also includes emergency plumbing response within 24 hours of notification and non-emergency domestic and fire water system repairs, including valve, piping, and backflow preventer replacement work. Emergency work requires verbal cost estimates followed by written estimates within 48 hours; non-emergency work requires an approved purchase order before commencement. The contract is for January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2028, with an option for an additional two-year renewal. Estimated repair-parts allowances are $15,000 for backflow-device testing and $10,000 for water-service repairs.
