Description

The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District is soliciting bids for improvements and modernization of elevators at multiple wastewater treatment and administrative facilities. The work includes minor repairs, painting, cab cleaning and interior upgrades, controls updates, and complete modernization of hydraulic and traction elevators. Modernization and reconstruction may include elevator cabs, doors, hoistway and machine-room equipment, controls, safety equipment, shaft and pit work, and associated architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing upgrades required to meet current Ohio and city building codes and Americans with Disabilities Act requirements. The project covers 13 passenger and freight elevators at the Easterly, Westerly, and Southerly wastewater facilities, the Environmental & Maintenance Services Center, the George J. McMonagle Administration Building, and the Cuyahoga Valley Interceptor. The bid includes a $75,000 hazardous-material-abatement allowance, a $40,000 building-automation-system integration allowance, a 10% general allowance, and bid, performance, and payment bonds. The estimated probable construction cost is $5,300,000, and the project has a 15% Small Business Enterprise goal. The contractor must coordinate elevator shutdowns, lockout/tagout, permits, hazardous-material assessments, and work sequencing across the facilities.
