Description
Lake County is soliciting a contractor to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and services for safety improvements and roadway construction on CR 565/Villa City Road from north of State Road 50 to south of U.S. Highway 27. The approximately 7.2-mile project includes eight-foot shoulders with a minimum four-foot paved portion, resurfacing of 12-foot travel lanes, ground-in rumble strips, flashing beacons at curves, pavement markings, guardrail work at the Palatlakaha River Bridge and Lake Arthur Road, drainage modifications, driveway and sidewalk work meeting current Americans with Disabilities Act standards, utility coordination, clearing and grubbing, erosion and sediment controls, and maintenance of traffic. The bid includes a base segment from Lake Emma Road to Lake Arthur Road and two alternates covering the adjacent roadway segments. Bidders must be prequalified by the Florida Department of Transportation in Flexible Paving. The solicitation requires a five-percent bid guarantee in the form of a bid bond or letter of credit, and the awarded contractor must provide 100-percent performance and payment bonds. The contract also includes federal-aid requirements, prevailing wage provisions, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise reporting, Buy America requirements, insurance, and a minimum 40-percent self-performance requirement. Responses must be submitted through the solicitation response portal; hand-delivered submissions are not accepted.
