Description
NASA Kennedy Space Center, through Spaceport Integration and Services and in coordination with the United States Space Force's Space Launch Delta 45, is conducting market research to identify U.S. entities interested in designing, constructing, and operating a regional liquefied natural gas (LNG) production and storage facility on Kennedy Space Center or Cape Canaveral Space Force Station property. The anticipated model is a commercially owned and operated facility under an Enhanced Use Lease agreement, with commercial launch providers purchasing LNG directly from the supplier. Responses should address production and storage concepts, launch-campaign operations, land and utility requirements, supporting infrastructure, modular expansion, alternate feedstock sources, safety and environmental considerations, resiliency, cybersecurity, continuity of operations, transportation and distribution, and integration with spaceport operations. The government has not established baseline consumption, storage, siting, or operational requirements; respondents are expected to work directly with commercial launch providers to develop demand and facility requirements. The government may allow excess LNG to be sold offsite if mission readiness is not affected. Responses are due September 21, 2026, by 5:00 p.m. EDT, and Amendment 01 includes government responses to industry questions.
