Description
The City of Iowa City is soliciting bids from qualified vendors to provide on-call snow and sand hauling services for the Streets Division's snow and ice response operations. Vendors must provide labor, equipment, fuel, maintenance, supervision, and incidentals, including dump trucks with a minimum seven-cubic-yard capacity and qualified operators. Snow will be hauled from the downtown area to designated disposal sites, currently 1200 S Riverside Drive, and sand will be hauled from S&G Materials to the Streets Division at 3810 Napoleon Lane, Iowa City, Iowa. Services may be requested on an as-needed basis during or immediately after snow events, including evenings, overnight hours, weekends, and holidays; vendors must be able to provide their committed number of trucks within 24 hours of notification. Multiple awards may be made, with no guaranteed minimum quantity of work. The initial contract term is one year, with up to four additional one-year renewals by mutual agreement. Subcontracting is permitted with the awarded vendor retaining full responsibility. Insurance is required, including general liability, automotive liability, and workers' compensation coverage. No bid bond or security is required. Vendors must submit three references, complete required online bid attributes and pricing, and upload a signed Wage Theft Affidavit. Contract Compliance documents are required only from a vendor selected for tentative award.
