Description
Colorado School of Mines is conducting Step 1 of a two-step solicitation to prequalify utility and/or general contractors capable of serving as the prime contractor for upgrades and repairs to the private domestic cold-water system at Quantum Commons. The work includes repairing and replacing approximately 2,200 linear feet of domestic cold-water piping, repairing or replacing valves and hydrants, and installing a new meter vault and replacement meter. The estimated construction cost is $580,000. Qualification packages must demonstrate experience on two similar projects valued at least $500,000 and completed within the past five years, preferably for higher-education institutions or Colorado state entities. Respondents must provide firm information, project references and owner contacts, resumes and project histories for the proposed project manager and lead superintendent, current project commitments and staffing capacity, litigation/bankruptcy/liquidated-damages disclosures, and evidence from a bonding company verifying additional bonding capacity of $580,000. Shortlisted firms will later be invited to bid. The eventual construction project is expected to reach substantial completion within four months of the Notice to Proceed and final completion within five months.
