Description
Montgomery County is soliciting a contractor to tow inoperable vehicles that impede traffic, operations, or safety at Department of Environmental Protection facilities. The scope includes passenger vehicles, medium-duty vehicles, and heavy-duty vehicles, including trash trucks and other vehicles exceeding 26,000 GVWR. The contractor must remove vehicles within two hours of a request, determine and provide appropriate towing equipment, provide storage-location information, and support emergency or after-hours requests. Bidders must have at least three years of towing experience, own company-registered tow trucks, maintain sufficient equipment and capacity for all vehicle classifications, and be licensed and in good standing in Maryland. The contract is a requirements-based, fixed-price services contract with an initial one-year term and two possible one-year renewals. Mandatory bid submissions include the signed Bid and Contract Award Page, quotation sheets, at least three references, price lists, Wage Requirements Law Certification, proof of Maryland licensing and registrations, and required vehicle registrations. Insurance requirements include commercial general liability, business automobile liability, garagekeepers legal liability, on-hook cargo coverage, impound/tow-lot liability, and workers’ compensation/employers’ liability.
