Description
The University of California, Berkeley, seeks a testing and inspection firm to serve as the Owner’s Testing Laboratory for seven phases of accessibility improvements. Services include reviewing material and product reports and performing special testing and inspections to verify compliance with contract documents, including inspections and testing related to concrete, reinforcement, steel, masonry, soils, and other construction work. The project includes repaving roads and rebuilding walks, ramps, stairs, plazas, and decks. Respondents must provide qualifications covering their proposed staffing and relevant experience, including three comparable projects completed within the last ten years, each with a minimum construction cost of $10 million (with an alternative for a similar public facility if that threshold cannot be met). Submissions must also include references, staff resumes, an organization chart, testing-facility information, a sample report, procedures manual, and pricing information. The University will rank the three most qualified firms and negotiate scope, staffing, schedule, and a not-to-exceed fee with the highest-ranked firm.
