Description
The Village of Wilmette is seeking a contractor to provide one full-time staff engineer for up to six months. The staff engineer will work at Village offices under the Village Engineer and provide assistant resident engineer-level supervision for local street, alley, and brick street resurfacing and maintenance projects, along with other municipal infrastructure construction and design assignments. Duties include contractor coordination, stakeholder communications, construction inspection, documentation of construction activities, pay-item and quantity recordkeeping, quantity takeoffs, and small-scale surveys. The staff engineer is expected to work at least 40 hours per week, with occasional Saturday inspections as construction schedules require. The contractor must provide transportation, a laptop, mobile phone with data, and construction inspection equipment. Respondents must have at least five years of experience performing similar work, hold a valid Illinois engineering license, and be currently prequalified by the Illinois Department of Transportation for construction services. The proposal must include up to two staff engineer candidates, resumes, billing rates, reimbursable vehicle expense rates, at least three relevant references, IDOT prequalifications, and the required completed proposal forms and certifications.
