Description
The City of Ocala is soliciting a consultant to support its 2027 Sand & Sun Festival. The scope includes recruiting, coordinating, and managing six individual professional sand sculptors; managing their travel, lodging, meals, artist fees, and related expenses; providing sand consultation and testing support; advising on sand-box logistics; supplying biodegradable wind protectant; and creating one welcome sand sculpture featuring City and sponsor logos. The consultant must also provide sculptor biographies and promotional assets, coordinate at least one anticipated workshop or related programming, oversee the competition and awards presentation, and provide judging instructions, a rubric, and scoring criteria. The consultant must provide on-site services from May 10 through May 15, 2027, including preparation, logistics, sculptor coordination, and competition oversight. The City will provide the sand, seven 12-foot sand-box enclosures, tents, water access, transportation resources for sand, permitting, and related site infrastructure. The estimated budget is $31,000, and the resulting contract will have a one-year initial term with one optional one-year renewal. Proposals are requested on a lump-sum basis, with award to the lowest bidder meeting the requirements.
