Description
The City of Mission Viejo Thrives Grant Program provides up to $3,500 to eligible for-profit brick-and-mortar businesses physically located in Mission Viejo. Grant funds support visible interior or exterior physical improvements designed to increase customer engagement, enhance customer experience, and generate social media exposure. Eligible projects may include murals, facade enhancements, decorative storefronts, branded photo opportunities, outdoor seating, lighting, landscaping, signage, feature walls, and distinctive customer seating areas. Applicants must submit the completed application form, a detailed project description, and current before photographs. Eligibility also requires a City of Mission Viejo Certificate of Occupancy, compliance with applicable permits and licenses, at least two and no more than 25 full-time-equivalent employees as of January 1, 2026, participation in three virtual business workshops, and at least one one-on-one SBDC consulting session. Selected awardees must complete required training, execute the grant program agreement, submit a W-9, install a commemorative plaque or decal, and provide photographs documenting the improvements within six months of receiving funds.
