The Virginia Department of Transportation’s Jamestown-Scotland Ferry Operation is soliciting a shipyard facility with dry-dock capabilities for haul-out services associated with the United States Coast Guard annual inspection of the ferryboat Surry. The contractor must provide the equipment, skilled labor, and services required for docking and undocking, shipyard operations, and continuous hull survey activities. The scope includes underwater and topside hull preservation and painting; hull, propeller, tailshaft, steering, rudder, keel-cooler, valve, strainer, anode, and watertight-door inspections and repairs; propulsion shaft-seal, engine-coolant, fuel-tank, potable-water-tank, MSD, electrical, fire-protection, and piping work; and related engineering and miscellaneous repairs. The solicitation includes detailed vessel drawings, docking plans, equipment manuals, marine paint standards, and regulatory requirements. A mandatory pre-bid sign-in sheet and addendum materials are included in the current solicitation package.
