Description
The U.S. Navy is seeking information from qualified builders regarding existing, conceptual, or developmental designs for up to two Yard Diving Tender vessels. The prospective craft would replace vessels currently used for naval diving and salvage training and support underwater operations involving submerged objects and ordnance, harbor clearance and search, and expeditionary salvage. Only U.S.-built and U.S.-flagged vessels will be considered, and the Navy is particularly interested in proven hull forms, propulsion systems, and major design features that could meet or be modified to meet the requirements. The target vessel is approximately 52 meters long, with a 10-meter beam, 3.6-meter draft, 15-meter air draft, 15-knot full-load cruise speed, 400-nautical-mile range, and Dynamic Positioning Class 2 station keeping. Requirements include operation through specified sea states, American Bureau of Shipping and federal regulatory compliance, a 180-square-meter aft deck, capacity for 50 embarked persons, a 4,500-kilogram aft crane, diving storage and locker spaces, crew accommodations, passenger instruction space, and an additional enclosed compartment. Respondents should provide a capability statement of no more than 10 pages addressing relevant vessel designs, construction experience, production facilities and capacity, design and teaming arrangements, similar contracts, vessel delivery history, approximate vessel, delivery, and engineering pricing, and the minimum quantity needed to support production. Responses must contain unclassified information only and should segregate proprietary material.
