Description
The City of Newport News is soliciting bids for a complete replacement of an existing Newport News Waterworks meter vault lid at the Canon Virginia facility. The contractor must field-verify dimensions; fabricate a replacement assembly replicating the existing lid; dispose of the existing lid and associated components; replace the structural support beams and fixed access ladder; and install all hardware, anchors, and adjustments needed for proper fit and operation. The scope also includes priming and applying UV-stable epoxy paint to both sides of the lid, furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and incidentals except rigging, and supplying Bilco rust-resistant, flush-mounted, lockable hatch doors with no substitutions permitted. Delivery and installation are required within 60 calendar days after receipt of the purchase order unless otherwise specified. The award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder based on total bid.
