Description
Isle of Wight County is soliciting sealed bids for a federally funded transportation construction project at the U.S. Route 460/258 intersection. The work includes widening U.S. Route 258 to provide northbound and southbound left-turn lanes, pavement construction, curb and gutter, sidewalks, storm sewer and drainage improvements, erosion and sediment controls, water and sanitary force-main relocations, traffic signal modifications, roadway lighting, signing, pavement markings, and maintenance of traffic. The project requires VDOT prequalification for the contractor and subcontractors, compliance with federal-aid, Davis-Bacon, Buy America and Build America, Buy America requirements, coordination with Norfolk Southern Railway, and railroad protective services when work is within 25 feet of the tracks. Substantial completion is required within 150 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed, with final completion and acceptance within 240 days after substantial completion. Only electronic responses submitted through OpenGov will be accepted; addenda and other updates are posted through the project portal.
