Description
The City of Toledo's Division of Code Compliance is seeking qualifications from one or more contractors to provide as-needed towing, removal, secure storage, and lawful disposal, auction, salvage, title processing, and related disposition services for nuisance, abandoned, junk, inoperable, unlicensed, or improperly stored vehicles and other items. The scope includes passenger vehicles, trucks, vans, SUVs, motorcycles, trailers, campers, recreational vehicles, boats, dumpsters, containers, and unusual or oversized items. Contractors must furnish labor, equipment, materials, supervision, transportation, storage, disposal, documentation, and specialty capabilities such as winching, dolly service, and flatbed service. Work may involve inaccessible, damaged, dismantled, wheel-less, debris-blocked, or non-drivable items. Contractors must maintain required Ohio and City towing licenses, secure storage, $1,000,000 insurance naming the City as an additional insured, qualified staff, appropriate equipment, and records supporting enforcement and cost recovery. Response expectations range from 30 minutes for emergency or priority tows, when available and authorized, to two business days for routine removals. The City does not guarantee a minimum amount of work and may assign work among multiple contractors based on availability, capability, response time, location, negotiated pricing, and other operational factors.
