Description
Lucas County is soliciting bids for basement water remediation at the Lucas County Correction Center. The work includes removing and replacing the existing exterior plaza and underlying roof system, exterior ramps and stairs with associated roof systems, and damaged concrete; installing a new hot-applied rubberized asphalt waterproofing membrane system with protection and drainage layers; repairing spalled and delaminated concrete, corroded reinforcing steel, and structural and non-structural cracks; and applying concrete surface refinishing and coatings. Related work includes demolition, shoring, construction fencing, concrete and masonry work, sheet-metal flashing, firestopping, painting, replacement of selected doors and ceilings, and installation of a remote-controlled detention door integrated with the facility's existing security system. The bid package includes allowances, alternates, unit prices, a mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit, prevailing-wage requirements, a Project Labor Agreement for projects over $100,000, and a full bid bond or a certified check equal to 10 percent of the bid amount.
