Description
San Mateo County is seeking professional firms to supplement Planning and Building Department staff with as-needed independent plan review, building permit technician, and building inspection services. The scope covers residential, multifamily, mixed-use, commercial, industrial, alteration, and other building projects within County limits. Plan review services must evaluate construction plans, calculations, specifications, and supporting documents for compliance with applicable County requirements, California Building Standards Code and Title 24, accessibility requirements, CALGreen, energy, fire, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, grading, drainage, floodplain, stormwater, wildfire, hazardous-materials, and related regulations. Inspection services include onsite and, when authorized, virtual inspections of structural, architectural, life-safety, building systems, accessibility, energy, and green-building work. Inspectors must hold appropriate International Code Council and/or California State Fire Marshal certifications, and the contractor must make a Certified Access Specialist available when requested. The agreement term is five years, with proposals evaluated on approach, firm qualifications, team qualifications, and price.
