Description
Manatee County is seeking a qualified professional consulting firm to develop and implement a form-based code within the Urban Service Area and designated urban corridors. The scope includes comprehensive and urban planning, regulatory analysis, development of a regulating plan and standards for building form, public spaces, streets, landscaping, parking, signage, and lighting, and integration with the County’s Comprehensive Plan, Land Development Code, and Public Works Standards. The consultant will conduct stakeholder interviews, steering committee meetings, public workshops and charrettes, website and outreach support, and presentations to the Planning Commission and Board of County Commissioners. Deliverables include maps, presentation materials, draft and final code documents, strike-through and underline amendments, and support through public hearings and adoption. The proposal must commit to completing work necessary to begin the formal public hearing process within 15 months of the Notice to Proceed or Agreement Effective Date, followed by an assumed three months for the Planning Commission hearing and two months for Board of County Commissioners hearings.
