Description
The Town of West New York is soliciting proposals from individuals or firms to serve as its Municipal Planner for a one-year term from January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2027. The selected planner must have at least 10 years of local-government planning experience, at least 10 years as a licensed professional planner, at least five years of municipal-planner experience, and sufficient staff to perform the work. The scope includes attending public meetings and Board of Commissioners work sessions; advising the Mayor, Board of Commissioners, and municipal officials; reviewing Planning Board and Board of Adjustment applications; preparing or reviewing master plans, zoning ordinances, housing plans, and related amendments; conducting field work; preparing Council on Affordable Housing documents and other reports; and performing additional planning duties as directed. Proposals must include organizational information, personnel qualifications and licenses, service descriptions, professional service fees, references, litigation and professional-liability-claim disclosures, required New Jersey forms and certifications, and evidence of applicable licenses. The contract requires workers' compensation coverage as required by law and professional liability insurance of at least $1,000,000 per claim and in the aggregate.
