Description
The Township of Millburn has announced a Third Round Fairness Hearing concerning a global settlement agreement related to its affordable housing obligations. The Superior Court of New Jersey will consider whether the settlement is fair and reasonable and whether it provides a realistic opportunity to satisfy the Township’s rehabilitation, prior-round, and Third Round obligations. A possible Fourth Round Compliance Hearing may also address the Township’s Housing Element, Fair Share Plan, and related implementing documents. The settlement removes a prior proposal for an affordable housing development at 9 Main Street and instead provides for a new mixed-income development consisting of 93 residential units: 75 deed-restricted affordable rental units and 18 market-rate units. The affordable units include designated set-asides for veterans and individuals with special needs. Interested parties may submit written objections or comments and may appear at the hearing in accordance with court procedures.
