Description
The Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority of the City of St. Louis (LCRA) is soliciting sealed bids for demolition contractor services at 207 North 6th Street (formerly Charlie Gitto's restaurant building) and a skybridge connecting the former Macy's parking garage to the Kiener West parking garage across Pine Street, all located in City Block 129. The scope of work includes comprehensive environmental remediation, hazardous materials abatement, and demolition of the building and skybridge, followed by site restoration. The project must be executed in a mandatory four-phase sequence: Phase 1 (remediation), Phase 2 (utility disconnection), Phase 3 (demolition and removal), and Phase 4 (restoration). Special instructions include salvaging green glazed bricks from the east facade and coordinating with the Kiener West garage to minimize impact. The contract will be a single prime contract with a completion deadline of September 30, 2026.
