Description
Ohio University is soliciting an electronic general-contractor bid for the Glidden Hall HVAC, Controls and Acoustics 2026 project. The base work includes HVAC equipment and piping upgrades, air-distribution improvements, dual-duct and variable-air-volume equipment, temperature controls and building-automation integration, electrical work, acoustical treatments, selective demolition, and related construction coordination, testing, balancing, commissioning, and training. The documents also require asbestos abatement for approximately 190 mudded pipe-insulation fittings, approximately 20 square feet of brown duct mastic, and project-impacted electrical components and mechanical flange gaskets. Prevailing-wage, domestic-steel, Ohio EDGE, SUPR/OBWC, and applicable hazardous-materials requirements apply. The published general-contractor estimate is $4,542,678.30, with additive alternates for additional sixth-floor ceiling work, acoustical treatment, sixth-floor HVAC and controls work, and lighting and controls. The base contract time is 317 consecutive days from the Notice to Proceed. Bids must be submitted electronically through Bid Express; the electronic bid requires a bid guaranty, Bidder's Qualifications form, EDGE Affidavit documentation, bidder signatory information, and related certifications. A bid guaranty is required in the amount of the base bid plus additive alternates, or an alternative permitted form for 10 percent of that amount. Addendum 2 extends the bid deadline to September 17, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. EDT, revises architectural, electrical, mechanical, and ceiling details, and provides an additional mechanical-room access opportunity for interested bidders.
