Description
The Town of Apex seeks a qualified compensation and classification consultant to evaluate and recommend updates to the classification and compensation structures for covered Police, Fire, and designated Communications/911 positions. The work includes reviewing job descriptions, duties, organizational relationships, current pay structures, market competitiveness, internal equity, salary compression, promotional and specialty pay practices, recruitment and retention risks, and hiring and promotional salary practices. Expected deliverables include revised job descriptions; classification methodologies and point-factor systems; recommended pay grades, bands, ranges, and policies; employee placement and implementation-cost models; editable spreadsheets, databases, reports, and communication materials; and implementation support for three months after the revised structures are implemented. Proposers must demonstrate at least seven years of relevant experience. Final deliverables are due by March 15, 2027. The contract term is nine months from execution, and pricing must be itemized and inclusive of expenses.
