Description
The City of Elk Grove is soliciting bids for renovation of the play mound at the District56 Nature Area. The work includes demolition and removal of existing synthetic turf and engineered wood fiber, installation of new poured-in-place play surfacing, synthetic turf, engineered wood fiber, climbing play equipment, drainage piping and connections, and resealing of existing poured-in-place surfacing. The project also includes site clearing, layout and staking, temporary facilities and controls, traffic and erosion controls, construction fencing and security monitoring, and related public-safety measures. The estimated opinion of probable cost is $296,500. Bidders must hold a current California Class A General Engineering or Class C-27 Landscaping Contractor's License and comply with applicable Department of Industrial Relations registration requirements. The bid requires a 10% bid security; the successful contractor must provide 100% performance and payment bonds. The project uses two consecutive work orders: 45 working days for procurement, scheduling, coordination, and other non-site-construction activities, followed by 25 working days for on-site construction.
