Des Moines Water Works is soliciting sealed proposals for the 2027 FWTP Basin Rechaining project. The work includes removing existing shafts, sprockets, collector chains, flight boards, and related sludge collection equipment from Treatment Basin No. 4 and Pre-Sedimentation No. 2; handling and storing salvaged materials; and reinstalling new or refurbished owner-furnished sludge collection equipment. The contractor must also install new electric motors and gearboxes, rebuild the existing sludge-collection drive system, align and adjust the assembled equipment, demolish existing process-water piping and appurtenances, install a new process-water system, and properly dispose of unused equipment and materials.
