Description
The City of Des Moines is soliciting bids for annual OSHA-compliant safety inspections of overhead, bridge, jib, trolley, monorail, gantry, stationary, and mobile cranes; hoists; rigging; chains; slings; shackles; and other lifting devices. The work includes magnetic particle testing of welds and hooks, load testing, and any necessary inspection equipment, labor, supervision, transportation, licenses, and supplies. The contractor must provide ASNT SNT-TC-1A-certified or equivalent inspectors trained in nondestructive testing. The contractor must coordinate inspection schedules with the City, provide written inspection reports organized by department and division, and report safety hazards and defects. Reports are due by email within two weeks after completion of all inspections. The contract has a 12-month initial term with five additional 12-month periods available by mutual agreement. Bidders must complete the electronic bid response, provide three client references, submit inspector certification and nondestructive-testing credentials, complete the Insurance Carrier form, and answer the required qualification, compliance, and pricing questions.
