Description
The Town of Schererville is seeking a contractor to remove and dispose of FEMA-eligible disaster debris from town-maintained rights of way following severe storms. The scope includes identifying eligible debris; cutting, collecting, loading, hauling, and disposing of vegetative and construction-and-demolition debris; removing eligible hazardous trees, hanging limbs, and stumps; operating and restoring debris reduction sites; reducing vegetative debris by grinding, chipping, or burning; transporting reduced debris and ash to final destinations; maintaining load tickets and operational reports; and providing traffic control, equipment, permitting, and site restoration. White goods, household hazardous waste collection, and hazardous waste collection are excluded, although incidentally collected materials must be segregated as specified. The contract is initially for 120 days, may be extended to one year from execution, and may include three additional one-year extensions at the Town’s discretion. A technical proposal, online cost proposal, three references, bid security, required certifications and declarations, and a drug-free workplace policy are required. Electronic submissions must be submitted through the DFS Portal as PDF files, with a redacted copy required if applicable. A bid bond or certified check of at least 5% of the contract amount is required before the deadline; a 100% performance bond is required before work begins.
