Description
The City of Des Moines Public Works Department is soliciting bids from qualified plumbing contractors to provide time-and-materials services for the construction, maintenance, repair, and replacement of City-owned sanitary sewer mains. Work may include re-establishing service to City mains, repairing or replacing water services damaged during excavation, related site work, protection, and appurtenances. Services will be performed on an as-needed basis within the corporate limits of Des Moines, Iowa, with no guaranteed minimum or maximum volume. The contractor must provide labor, materials, supervision, equipment, permits, tools, transportation, and incidentals; use licensed and experienced tradespeople; maintain a clean work site; and provide emergency availability 24 hours per day, seven days per week, 365 days per year, with a one-hour emergency response time. Bidders must submit labor rates, material and equipment markups, a mobilization fee, an equipment list with fees, three client references, years of relevant service, a response describing their 24/7 and one-hour response capability, and required compliance forms. The contract has a 24-month initial term with three additional 12-month periods available by mutual agreement.
