Description
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is soliciting bids for a master agreement covering cremation services at participating correctional institutions and conservation camps throughout California. Contractors must collect deceased incarcerated individuals within specified timeframes, provide transportation and cold storage, supply suitable cremation containers, perform cremations, receive and dispose of ashes, and complete required death certificates and permits. Services include coordination with CDCR personnel, coroners, beneficiaries, and next of kin; provision of certified death-certificate copies; compliance with applicable funeral, cremation, health, safety, and correctional-facility requirements; and timely completion of service reports and related authorization forms. Bidders may bid on one or more location groups but must bid on every location and item within any group selected. Estimated quantities are not guaranteed. The agreement is scheduled to run through April 30, 2029, with primary, secondary, and tertiary awards possible by location.
