The Historic African American Cemetery and Graves Fund (AACGF) is a state-funded grant program administered by the Virginia Department of Historic Resources (DHR). It provides funding to support the care, documentation, and preservation of historic African American cemeteries and graves established prior to 1948 across the Commonwealth. The fund supports both routine maintenance and larger preservation efforts, helping ensure these sacred sites are respectfully maintained and recognized as part of Virginia's cultural landscape.
