Description
The City of Norfolk is seeking a responsible contractor to provide ongoing disposal and incineration of domestic and wild animal carcasses. The City will transport carcasses in cadaver bags to the contractor’s incineration facility or drop-off site, which must be within 15 driving miles of 1176 Pineridge Road, Norfolk, Virginia. The contractor must maintain all required licenses and authorizations, including an air pollution control permit from the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, use approved emissions-control technology such as an afterburner, comply with applicable zoning and setback requirements, weigh delivered carcasses, and provide signed weight tickets. The contractor will also supply small, large, and extra-large boxes of cadaver bags as ordered. The agreement term is five years, with estimated quantities only and no guaranteed minimum or maximum purchases. The lowest responsive and responsible bidder will be considered for award. The contractor must maintain commercial general liability, workers’ compensation, automobile liability, pollution liability, and professional liability insurance, and must provide accessibility-compliant deliverables where applicable.
