Description
The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service requires replacement of the inoperable desiccant dehumidifier serving a Bally Scientific walk-in seed cooler. The contractor must provide and install a new energy-efficient system equivalent to a Munters HC-150 or better, with at least 150 CFM airflow and the ability to maintain 25%–40% relative humidity in a constant 35°F environment. The scope includes mounting brackets, air vents and ducting, insulation, electrical conduit and wiring, a humidistat and controllers, four portable hygrometers, calibration, and any other components needed for proper operation. The contractor must remove and legally dispose of the existing Ebac Industrial DD400 dehumidifier, ducts, humidistat, and associated equipment; install and seal replacement air lines, wall penetrations, grilles, and mounting hardware; and perform all required labor, supervision, tools, and equipment. After installation, the contractor must conduct a certified inspection and demonstrate system operation for at least 10 business days, correct deficiencies, provide operating and maintenance instruction, and furnish physical and digital manuals and system documentation. The estimated project value is less than $35,000, and the work must be performed during normal business hours without overtime labor.
