Description
The California Department of Transportation is soliciting bids for on-call, as-needed goat grazing services at various locations along designated state highways, interchanges, and state property in Alameda, Contra Costa, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Solano Counties. The contractor must furnish goats, herdsmen, labor, tools, equipment, materials, supplies, travel, transportation, portable electric fencing, water troughs, water, and all incidentals. Services include grazing designated areas, protecting native and desirable plants, trimming ungrazed vegetation when directed, removing waste and debris, and maintaining sufficient vegetation to prevent soil erosion. The contractor must be able to support two separate grazing locations simultaneously, report to locations within one week of notification, and perform services under service requests. Subcontracting is not permitted. Estimated bid quantities total 220 acres, but actual quantities are not guaranteed.
