Description
Polk County is soliciting sealed bids for grounds maintenance at the North Central, Northeast, and Southeast Landfills. The scope includes landscape, slope, ditch, and landfill-area mowing; line trimming, edging, clearing, hedging, pruning, weeding, litter and debris pickup; minor tree-limb removal; and related maintenance around roads, sidewalks, drainage features, monitoring wells, fences, buildings, scale houses, and other landfill appurtenances. The contractor must protect slopes, ditches, liners, wetlands, stormwater systems, and groundwater-monitoring infrastructure, repair damage caused by its operations, remove equipment between mowing cycles, and coordinate monthly schedules with the County Project Manager. The bid requires a current Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Commercial Applicator Category 5A Aquatic Pest Control License, evidence that the vendor has operated under the same FEIN for two years, a qualified supervisor resume, three similar-project references, and a completed bid package. Subcontracting is strictly prohibited, and all work must be performed by the awarded contractor. The period of performance runs from the notice-to-proceed date through September 30, 2029.
