The California Military Department is soliciting a contractor to perform Chorro Creek pikeminnow suppression and South-Central California Coast steelhead monitoring at Camp San Luis Obispo from approximately September 2026 through September 2028. The work includes aquatic habitat typing, electrofishing, block-netting, opportunistic angling with artificial barbless hooks, fish identification and measurement, humane euthanasia of captured pikeminnow, PIT tagging of up to 200 steelhead, special-status species observations, photography, and related data collection. The contractor must furnish all labor, equipment, materials, transportation, lodging, permits, and fees, and provide qualified biologists and required deliverables, including field data, GIS files, photographs, CNDDB data, and draft and final monitoring reports. The contractor must currently hold an NMFS Section 10(a) permit specific to work within Chorro Creek; permits for other projects are insufficient. Addendum 1 must be signed and returned with the proposal, or the proposal may be rejected as non-responsive. The prime contractor must self-perform at least 20 percent of the work, and subcontracting requires State approval.
