Description
The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources is establishing a master agreement with multiple qualified commercial fishers to harvest and remove Silver, Bighead, Grass, and Black Carp from designated pools of the Ohio River and its tributaries. Participants must provide all labor, materials, equipment, and a helper; use gill nets and side-scan sonar; meet specified commercial fishing experience and licensing requirements; permit agency observers onboard; submit weekly itemized invoices and monthly reports; and comply with applicable fishing and transportation regulations. Fishing locations, schedules, launch sites, and access to restricted waters will be coordinated and approved by KDFWR. Compensation is $1,200 per eight-hour fishing day, or $150 per hour for up to eight hours when approved, with payment based on days or hours worked. The initial contract period is one year from award, with four optional one-year renewals and a possible additional extension of up to 90 days. Multiple contracts may be awarded, and participants may be used on an as-needed basis.
