Description
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is soliciting welding testing and certification services for its Correctional Construction Mentorship Program. The scope includes guided bend testing and evaluation of welder performance qualification plates and pipes under applicable AWS and ASME standards; testing of puddle welds, side-seam welds, and light-gauge metal stud welds; preparation of welding procedure specifications; and provision of welder qualification records and certification cards. The contractor must provide a Certified Welding Inspector or Certified Associate Welding Inspector for on-site visits at Calipatria State Prison, Centinela State Prison, California Institution for Men, and California Institution for Women. The agreement is estimated at $100,000, with services anticipated to begin January 1, 2027, or upon approval, whichever is later, and continue through December 31, 2029. Bidders must submit rates for every item on the rate sheet and provide the required certifications, licenses, business documentation, and bid forms.
