Description
This invitation to bid covers replacement of the existing cooling tower at the Transportation Management Center, including selective demolition, installation of new HVAC equipment, piping and appurtenances, associated electrical work, building automation system modifications, controls, insulation, water treatment coordination, and testing, adjusting, and balancing of existing HVAC pumps, hydronic systems, and cooling towers. The work also includes a chemical-treatment storage shed alternate and a $10,000 contingency allowance. The cooling system must remain operational during the cooling season, with the tower replacement scheduled during the heating season. The contractor must provide a temporary cooling tower of equal capacity if the permanent tower is not operational before the following cooling season. The bid must include a 10% bid security, and the successful bidder must furnish 100% performance and payment bonds. Prevailing wage requirements, subcontractor listings, drug-testing compliance, insurance, safety, quality-control, commissioning, training, and closeout documentation apply.
