Description
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is seeking a qualified contractor to remove and pile trees on approximately 16 acres at the Middle Raccoon WMA Knapp tract. Trees 3 inches in diameter and larger must be cut as low to the ground as possible; deciduous stumps must be treated with chemical provided by the DNR, and all tree debris must be piled in DNR-designated areas. The work is intended to remove invasive cedar and other tree species from grassland areas while protecting adjacent oak plantings, powerlines, power poles, and county gravel roads. The initial contract term is stated as seven months, with one possible annual extension. The tentative contract term is October 1, 2026, through March 31, 2027, and the tree-removal and piling task must be completed no later than April 30, 2027. The DNR may adjust the acreage and scope based on bid results and available funding. Bids will be evaluated based on price among responsible and responsive bidders.
