Description
Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is soliciting a contractor for timber harvesting and fuels-reduction work across 923 acres at Thompson Chain of Lakes State Park. The scope includes harvesting approximately 17,853 tons of sawlogs, removing other designated forest material, cutting submerchantable and damaged trees, creating fuel breaks, and reducing or disposing of slash through piling, chipping, mastication, removal, or other approved methods. The contractor must also construct, reconstruct, improve, and maintain designated haul roads; install or maintain drainage structures; furnish specified gravel, pipe, seed, and related materials; perform erosion control and reclamation; haul logs; comply with road-use permits and fire-protection regulations; and complete required road and harvest-unit restoration. The opportunity includes mandatory pre-bid-tour acknowledgment, insurance requirements, and a performance bond equal to 20% of bid value.
