The City of East Palo Alto is soliciting proposals for ongoing, year-round community forestry services during fiscal years 2026–2027 and 2027–2028. The scope includes planting 80 public and private trees annually; providing young-tree care for up to three years; maintaining an inventory of planted trees; promoting tree-planting opportunities to private landowners; reviewing development proposals and recommending planting-related conditions; and coordinating community outreach and educational activities. The contractor will organize and promote five annual community events, including tree plantings and bilingual community tree walks, provide presentations and updates at public meetings, and perform related on-call services. Work may occur at residential properties, public rights-of-way, parks, parkways, and City facilities. Proposers must hold an active California C-49 or D-49 contractor license, satisfy applicable registration and certification requirements, and provide the required qualifications, references, pricing, and addenda acknowledgment. The initial contract term is five years, with up to two additional one-year extensions by mutual agreement.
