The USDA Forest Service seeks archaeological and cultural-resource services for White River National Forest projects. The base Twin Peaks project covers approximately 1,893 acres and requires background research, 100% intensive pedestrian survey, archaeological site and isolate recordation, eligibility evaluations, limited shovel testing when needed, GPS and GIS mapping, photographs, and a comprehensive cultural resource inventory report. Optional work includes the 9,149-acre RB Divide Survey and the 400-acre Aspen-Sopris Wildlife Habitat Project survey. The contractor must follow Colorado State Historic Preservation Office standards and White River National Forest guidance; provide monthly fieldwork summaries, draft and final reports, site and isolate forms, maps, shapefiles, photographs, and final project packets. Key personnel qualifications include a valid Forest Service Cultural Resource Use Permit for the principal investigator, qualified crew leaders, and documented archaeological education and field experience for crew members. The notice states that this is a special notice of intent rather than an open solicitation and that the call order RFQ will be emailed only to current LMIR BPA award holders.
