Description
The USDA Forest Service is soliciting proposals for the Banana Peel DxP IRSC project on the San Juan National Forest, Mancos-Dolores Ranger District, near Dolores, Colorado. The project involves cutting and removing ponderosa pine sawtimber, cutting, skidding, and decking non-saw and dead sawtimber, piling slash, decommissioning user-created forest roads, and placing boulders for vehicle use restriction. The contract includes mandatory and optional work items, with mandatory items covering approximately 142.7 acres of timber removal and optional items covering additional acreage and road work. The project aims to improve forest resilience, reduce wildfire risk, and provide economic support to local communities.
